As far as I can tell, the Planet X theory is just that – a theory. There’s no proof about it as yet.

I found this article from the Washington Post, that discusses Planet X theories, too. But it is pretty skeptical of the possibilities of a disaster; apparently, astronomers are the biggest skeptics about this.

As for there being two suns in our solar system…that’s a new one on me. I did a Google search, and found several articles and videos about it, though. And I am sure you have done your own research, too. The theory seems linked to Planet X.

In answer to your question: I can’t tell you that there IS such a thing as Planet X, or that the theory of a second sun is true. Both theories seem far-fetched to me. Before reading The Urantia Book, I knew next to nothing about astronomy, so all of my understanding of cosmology and God’s creation of the universes comes from there. And the book does not mention either of these possibilities, as far as I know.

But what I do know from reading The Urantia Book is that we live in a friendly and ordered universe – a universe that has been created for one purpose: that of fostering life and leading all creatures on a Godward path through the Father’s ascension plan, no matter what planets they happen to live on. I also know that Urantia (Earth) is a very special place – the planet that Jesus created, and that he chose, as the scene of his mortal bestowal as a child of the realm, God made man. Somehow, I feel that if there was such a doomsday possibility in store for our planet, that Jesus might have been well aware of it, and maybe would have chosen a world that was not doomed to obliteration.

In any event, since there is no concrete evidence for these theories as yet, it seems pointless to entertain them, except as curiosities. In my opinion, better we should go about our daily lives trying our best to discern and do the holy will of God, and leave all such outcomes to him. Even if there WAS truth to these scenarios – what can we possibly do about them except worry? We are all going to experience death, one way or another, right? Worrying about such things seems a waste of time and energy, and not the best use of our imaginations. I’ll leave you with this quote that has always been a favorite of mine, expecially when I have fears about the future. It’s a quote from Jesus, and I hope it gives you comfort:

176:3.2 “What more shall I say? The downfall of nations, the crash of empires, the destruction of the unbelieving Jews, the end of an age, even the end of the world, what have these things to do with one who believes this gospel, and who has hid his life in the surety of the eternal kingdom? You who are God-knowing and gospel-believing have already received the assurances of eternal life. Since your lives have been lived in the spirit and for the Father, nothing can be of serious concern to you. Kingdom builders, the accredited citizens of the heavenly worlds, are not to be disturbed by temporal upheavals or perturbed by terrestrial cataclysms. What does it matter to you who believe this gospel of the kingdom if nations overturn, the age ends, or all things visible crash, since you know that your life is the gift of the Son, and that it is eternally secure in the Father? Having lived the temporal life by faith and having yielded the fruits of the spirit as the righteousness of loving service for your fellows, you can confidently look forward to the next step in the eternal career with the same survival faith that has carried you through your first and earthly adventure in sonship with God.”
