One of the most beautiful truths of the expanded revelation of God contained within The Urantia Book is the teaching about God as Father. We learn that God is Father of our spirit selves just as our earthly father is parent to our material bodies. And since our spirit selves are destined for eternity, that Father-child relationship will persist throughout our eternal career. God is a real person, and is personally real - a true friend and a true Father.
The concept of God as a Father was not original with Jesus, but he exalted and elevated the idea into a sublime experience by achieving a new revelation of God and by proclaiming that every mortal creature is a child of this Father of love, a son of God. ~ The Urantia Book, (196:0.2)
"The affectionate heavenly Father, whose spirit indwells his children on earth, is not a divided personality—one of justice and one of mercy— neither does it require a mediator to secure the Father's favor or forgiveness. Divine righteousness is not dominated by strict retributive justice; God as a father transcends God as a judge." ~ The Urantia Book, (2:6.6)
"Man goes forth searching for a friend while that very friend lives within his own heart." ~ The Urantia Book, (3:1.4)
God's Saving Grace
The creature's need is wholly sufficient to insure the full flow of the Father's tender mercies and his saving grace.
The Urantia Book, (2:4.2)
The God Of Eternity
"The bonds of time may seem to afflict you, but the God of eternity loves you."
Jesus, The Urantia Book, (147:3.3)
Father to All
God is a transcendent reality... a saving person and a loving Father to all who enjoy spiritual peace on earth, and who crave to experience personality survival in death.
The Urantia Book, (1:2.2)
Personality of Love
God is not a hypothesis formulated to unify the human concepts of truth, beauty, and goodness; he is the personality of love from whom all of these universe manifestations are derived.
The Urantia Book, (196:3.24)
The Divine Family
This very love of God for the individual brings into being the divine family of all individuals, the universal brotherhood of the freewill children of the Paradise Father.
The Urantia Book, (12:7.10)
God The Father
When all is said and done, the Father idea is still the highest human concept of God.
The Urantia Book, (196:3.35)
The Ultimate Goal
"The ultimate goal of human progress is the reverent recognition of the fatherhood of God and the loving materialization of the brotherhood of man."
Jesus, The Urantia Book, (143:1.4)
