Q: Is the Mormon Church or anyone affiliated to this church or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints have anything to do with the writings of The Jesus Books in any way?
A: Thanks for writing! The answer to your question is: to the best of my knowledge, no. I have been a student of The Urantia Book for over 30 years, and have never heard of any connection of the Mormon Church with the content of the book in any of its four parts.
Some of the human personalities who are associated with the actual delivery of The Urantia Book had their roots in the 7th Day Adventist Church, but not Mormonism. Here is a letter that we answered about that some time ago which may be of interest.
In the end, if you are interested in The Urantia Book, it should be judged solely on its content. It is a revelation of truth to our world, and enables the reader/student to harmonize with many evolutionary religions and the thought behind them, instructing us that all religions are good that help bring man to God. But the teachings of The Urantia Book are not a reflection of any particular religion – in fact the book goes to great lengths to expose the drawbacks of institutional religion – promoting instead an individual, personal spiritual experience with God rather than any form of ecclesiasticism, hierarchies, priests, or other intermediaries.
