Happy Holidays from Truthbook!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Dear TruthBook Friends and Family,

Madonna And ChildOnce again, Urantia Book readers join the Christian world as we all celebrate the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. Even though we understand that the Master was born in the warm month of August, we enjoy all of the holiday doings in these chilly days of December, when - coincidentally - the light returns again to the earth as it turns its face once more to the sun. So, in this holiday greeting, we want to share with you the true meaning of Christmas - the bestowal of Christ Michael of Nebadon, the Prince of Peace. No matter when we celebrate the occasion, the truth of the bestowal remains the same.

From The Bestowal Of Michael On Urantia

To live such identical lives as he imposes upon the intelligent beings of his own creation, thus to bestow himself in the likeness of his various orders of created beings, is a part of the price which every Creator Son must pay for the full and supreme sovereignty of his self-made universe of things and beings. ~ The Urantia Book (120:0.1)
Said Immanuel:
In all that you may perform on the world of your bestowal, bear constantly in mind that you are living a life for the instruction and edification of all your universe. You are bestowing this life of mortal incarnation upon Urantia, but you are to live such a life for the spiritual inspiration of every human and superhuman intelligence that has lived, now exists, or may yet live on every inhabited world which has formed, now forms, or may yet form a part of the vast galaxy of your administrative domain. Your earth life in the likeness of mortal flesh shall not be so lived as to constitute an example for the mortals of Urantia in the days of your earthly sojourn nor for any subsequent generation of human beings on Urantia or on any other world. Rather shall your life in the flesh on Urantia be the inspiration for all lives upon all Nebadon worlds throughout all generations in the ages to come. ~ The Urantia Book (120:2.7)
Never lose sight of the fact that the supreme spiritual purpose of the Michael bestowal was to enhance the revelation of God. ~ The Urantia Book (120:4.4)
And so,
...at noon, August 21, 7 B.C., with the help and kind ministrations of women fellow travelers, Mary was delivered of a male child. Jesus of Nazareth was born into the world, was wrapped in the clothes which Mary had brought along for such a possible contingency, and laid in a near-by manger. ~ The Urantia Book (122:8.1)
In just the same manner as all babies before that day and since have come into the world, the promised child was born... ~ The Urantia Book (122:8.2)
Jesus was, and is the shining example of "the good bestowing themselves upon the evil and thereby saving them by this very devotion of love." And he began his unselfish bestowal as the babe of Bethlehem, the "one altogether lovely and the greatest among ten thousand..."

It is difficult to imagine our world without Jesus - without the beauty and simplicity of the child of promise, born of Mary, destined to illuminate the entire universe with his message of "peace on earth and goodwill towards men." And in The Urantia Book, we are graced with the Master's life presented in such a way that we mortals may learn and benefit as never before. Said Jesus:

"When you look upon me, you see not only the Son of Man but also Him who sent me. I am the light of the world, and whosoever will believe my teaching shall no longer abide in darkness." ~ The Urantia Book ( 174:5.7)

What a transcendent service if, through this revelation, the Son of Man should be recovered from the tomb of traditional theology and be presented as the living Jesus to the church that bears his name, and to all other religions! ~ The Urantia Book (196:1.2)

Of all human knowledge, that which is of greatest value is to know the religious life of Jesus and how he lived it. ~ The Urantia Book (196:1.3)

We here at TruthBook want to wish you and yours a blessed holiday season - one filled with inspiration and promise, love and joy. May the babe of Bethlehem become, and remain, your personal Prince of Peace.
