This is a word cloud of Paper 196. The size of the words represents their relative repetition.

And before that, here's a link to, in my not-so-humble opinion is
a beautiful presentation of the Papers via word clouds: http://tinyurl.com/nm8hew

Hello! Impressive work.

If you can, please post first 200 words (only verbs, nouns, adjectives, adverbs) for the entire Part IV.

Several times in the past I was thinking about doing this kind of statistics. Never had the time to do it (and I am not that good in handling databases either.)

Ja-nee, Russ, this is remarkebly impressive indeed!

What strikes me is the words:

JESUS, FAITH, GOD, HUMAN

Just look at those four words (together-combined). Need I say more?

Those four concepts say it all!

A very fine piece of art. I'd love to have the poster, in living color!

Hi all.
Save it to your computer and print it up.
It should fit a legal sized piece of paper 8 1/2 X 17
I haven't tried printing it yet ( no legal sized paper) but, I saved it with my photoshop program. 8)
Did I mention way cool! 8)

Here's a vector high-resolution version [PDF] that is very printable:

But what's even better, friends, is that you too can create these:

Have fun!

Here's two Excel files I just made which lists of all the words
used in Part IV of the Urantia Book, with occurance count.
One list sorted by name, the other by occurance. Not sure if
this is useful for you.

Yes, Russ. Thank you very much!

I can work further with this kind of data in XLS format.

Hey Russ. You put together an excellent word cloud of Paper 196. I checked out the http://wordle.net site and saw that they allow a choice of font, color scheme, and whether you want the words to form vertically, horizontally, or mixed. The software is pretty amazing. The choices you made for your presentation were just right from my point of view.

If the editors choose, Truth Book can create a word cloud for each paper and make easy links to them for readers of their online UB version. The clouds give an objective and meaningful preview for students reading the papers.

Just a thought...

David

I'm going to hog this thread. :D

When I first discovered word clouds* I knew they
were powerful.

When I applied the process to the Urantia Book I
started "seeing things"; I started seeing patterns
of key words which are consistently repeated
throughout our beloved 5th Epochal.

This has become an asset in my Urantia Book studies.

These word-occurance images reveal the key and
theme of each paper. The consistency between
the Paper titles and prevalence of certain words is
unmistakable: further evidence of the care and
intelligence behind the creation of the Urantia Book.

I'm working on a small project the I will share here
soon. It's based on word occurances in the UB. Some
will likely find it as useful for insights as I have.

For starters, here is something quite remarkable;
I wasn't sure if IBM's Word Cloud application (based
on Wordle) could handle the entire Urantia Book, all
one million words of it, but it did! Below is the result.
A graphical representation of the entire revelation.

Larger text represents most frequently used words.

The only constraints were: the total number of words
shown (about 150), and the elimination of common
words such as "a", "and", "but"... and numerals.

I was a bit surprised to see that the word Jesus is the
most frequently used word in the book.

Be of good cheer!

And a great thought it is!

I'm working on just that; soon to share. =)
