149:2.5 (1670.6) The teachers of the religion of Jesus should approach other religions with the recognition of the truths which are held in common (many of which come directly or indirectly from Jesus’ message) while they refrain from placing so much emphasis on the differences.

Me here: The "indirectly" would indicate Machiventa's teachings which were the Jesusonian as directed by Michael and resulted in every monotheism which we know from history today.

A "Urantia Religion", when and if such appears, must somehow unify that which is "held in common" or it will fail by any "emphasis on the differences". Quite a challenge.

It does appear to be a growing success in the unity and growing unification of many religionist who share those "truths which are held in common" around the world today. This link will take you to a report written by one who attended the Parliament of World Religions this past October. Enjoy!!

It must've been said before, as much as I would prefer intellectually an organised religion surrounding the teachings of the Urantia Book, what we really need is "a movement" instead of "a cult". The idea that "Parental Experience is imperative for personality survival" is the main theme of a philosophy that I gleaned from this text.

People have written about the Urantia Papers' ability to influence society, but I think that people will be unconsciously inspired to carry forward the mission found in this text, without foreknowledge or preambling. What is more, there is a floundering of Western Society due to the overdocumentation of things; it has cluttered the imagination and put too many objections onto the moral imperative of the individual. Knowledge must be encircuited by values, which requires simplification through logic and action.

Let us help a modern generation sort through the clutter: eventually the human soul becomes desperate when denied the opportunity to help others, by sharing the experiencial knowledge it has gathered. Helping other human individuals in the act of self-maturation, the pursuit of self-directedness, is one of the most rewarding experiences for the human mind. It both affirms the value of experience and proves the potential for mind-values to be transferred and preserved.

Young people may think of maturation as "a series of hoops" that is required. College, jobs, and houses are seen as the requisite stage commonly held before home life may begin. This is an acceptible framework, to be sure, but without marriage and children, then the ushering of society, the commonly held good, is just an empty web.

We're getting ready to officially adopt the Urantia religion as our personal religion, through symbolism, on August 21st.

A couple of weeks beforehand, we will present the tenets, which are basically the core teachings of the FER. A simple statement of faith and acceptance of the revelation's teachings will be all that's needed to convert officially. This is for those people who understand the need for it, whether for their own lives or for the sake of others, who have no healthy choices available to them in this lost world. There's no compulsion.

It's difficult for a tree to give shade and fruit to a large area when it hasn't put down roots and hasn't first developed a system of support for its branches. Effective outreach is impossible without a consolidation of the base.

Our feeling is that a spiritual community that gives no support to its own believers while solely focusing on outreach is like a church that lets it's own members flounder while it focuses solely on handing out its book. And that such a church is blind to its own needs, and rendered ineffective.

This so-called new religion is in reality an updated restatement of the oldest religion on earth. Let the birthday of our blessed savior mark the beginning of a religion founded on universal truth, eternal beauty, and infinite goodness - let it be lovely to his eyes and a blessing to our world.

"Whosever will may come." Please refrain from negative, hostile comments. We don't need UB clergy, telling people what they should and shouldn't do. Everyone is free to do what they think is right, or refrain from doing it if they think it's wrong.

There'll be more updates as the time approaches.
Blessings!
87:7.6 "Regardless of the drawbacks and handicaps, every new revelation of truth has given rise to a new cult, and even the restatement of the religion of Jesus must develop a new and appropriate symbolism."

What is the new symbol?

Is it material or spiritual?

Why wait till August 21st? All of you can be born of the Spirit now.

87:7.6 Regardless of the drawbacks and handicaps, every new revelation of truth has given rise to a new cult, and even the restatement of the religion of Jesus must develop a new and appropriate symbolism. Modern man must find some adequate symbolism for his new and expanding ideas, ideals, and loyalties. This enhanced symbol must arise out of religious living, spiritual experience. And this higher symbolism of a higher civilization must be predicated on the concept of the Fatherhood of God and be pregnant with the mighty ideal of the brotherhood of man.

Awesome news Robert.

I would not be surprised if future celestial historians mark Mr. Sarmast as one of the more important figures to grace this age.

Congratulations Robert.

Thanks Al! This event has its own energy and the time is ripe. I'm merely putting up the drywall so that it has a place to call home. It's time for us to become a true family.

Blessings,
Robert

Hi Robert, perhaps you should read Al's post one more time. Are you looking for fame and recognition from celestials?

When Jesus was here, was his entourage (disciples, women's corps, other followers etc) organized religion?

Greetings slyde,

The obvious answer is NO. However, it was socialized religion, which is slightly different. I think the difference lies in the formation of dogma. Organized religion, by the simple nature of being organized, results in crippling ideological doctrines. It is possible to freely and creatively socialize one's religion without the necessity of the dead chains of dogma.

In instituting this remembrance supper, the Master, as was always his habit, resorted to parables and symbols. He employed symbols because he wanted to teach certain great spiritual truths in such a manner as to make it difficult for his successors to attach precise interpretations and definite meanings to his words. In this way he sought to prevent successive generations from crystallizing his teaching and binding down his spiritual meanings by the dead chains of tradition and dogma. In the establishment of the only ceremony or sacrament associated with his whole life mission, Jesus took great pains to suggest his meanings rather than to commit himself to precise definitions. He did not wish to destroy the individual's concept of divine communion by establishing a precise form; neither did he desire to limit the believer's spiritual imagination by formally cramping it. He rather sought to set man's reborn soul free upon the joyous wings of a new and living spiritual liberty. 179:5:4

Respectfully,
Rexford

Ok. I get that, Rexford
I then can't help but wonder why He hired Paul to do it for him? ( Using the term hired freely) After all the Christian religion did make Jesus famous among humans to this day!

Greetings slyde,

I have always thought that Paul hired himself. The reason why he had such an impressive impact is the bigger question, but we do know that anything of value survives, so there must have been something there worth holding onto.

Rexford, again I agree, something was defiantly going on. So my next question does Robert have something going on?
Robert, who is the "we" you are referring to?

Important question! We certainly know that Paul made many mistakes. He was after all, only human. Undoubtedly, Robert will make many mistakes also. Only time will tell if the benefits outweigh the mistakes. There is one thing we can be sure of though, and that is, anything of value will last.

And what is The Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit and the TAs, chopped liver?! :?

Or maybe Paul was a Jedi Master with highly developed mind tricks capabilities.

Any bigger questions?

Joshua was the name revealed to Mary and was found useful and so Urantia is the name revealed to us. Whether it is organised religion or not, it is the name people would describe the beginnings of global fellowship. So make something out of what is revealed it will prove useful.
