Hello URANO,

Welcome to this site friend! Yes the U.S. Presidential Inauguration is today. Big event.

Be aware though that in general this Media Forum is about items that show up in the media that have something to do with The Urantia Book.

Thanks and look forward to see you joining in our many discussions!

Hi Urano:

I think many members of the Urantia community have high hopes for the next administration. The ever present hope is for human society to move forward towards the eventual age of light and life in such a manner as we can see actual, visible progress. But since this final destination of humanity will be as much a spiritual advancement (hence fairly invisible) as it will be a material and cultural advancement, the amount of real progress during any particular era is up to discussion.

The best way for Urantia believers to help bring the age of light and life into fruition, during this administration and beyond, is to be the shining beacons of spiritual love which inspire those around us to become better men (and women, sorry girls!). It states clearly in the UB that persons of spiritual vision need to take that next step and rise to positions of action; within community, within industry, and within politics. While I do not see myself doing this (too lazy, or to early in the evolutionary process, I’m not sure which), I hold hope for future generations of believers, those children of today’s believers, who may be raised in an environment which is more conducive to an early and natural development of social leaders than the chaotic environment of radical redirection and emotional duress which characterize many of the current “conversions” to Urantia thought patterns.
Al

I'm with you there Al.

I think we best not put our hopes in Washington politicos, but rather invest them in the Father in Heaven. It has long been my candid observation that no politician has ever changed the ways Washington D.C. operates.

What does it matter to the God knowing mortal if all things worldly crash?

Obama may indeed do good things for the nation... or not.

I'd prefer to cast my lot with the Father in Heaven.

I most surely agree with the above opinions.
