Hello! I'm so glad and surprised at all the support.

Listen the way I see it we are off to a good start already. The quote
Quote:
51:6.4 The schools of the Planetary Prince are primarily concerned with philosophy, religion, morals, and the higher intellectual and artistic achievements. The garden schools of Adam and Eve are usually devoted to practical arts, fundamental intellectual training, social culture, economic development, trade relations, physical efficiency, and civil government. Eventually these world centers amalgamate, but this actual affiliation sometimes does not occur until the times of the first Magisterial Son.
can be our guide. It could look like a two School college with a school of The Planetary Prince(we can find a better name) and a Adamic School each teaching classes with majors and minors with plenty of cross education; like a BS in Art you will need to take some civil government classes. This is just one example of how we can start to put this together.

My next point is that the school should not shy away from underprivileged students both academically or financial there must be a way to bring in these groups, I have some ideas that should be explored. As a matter of fact, a good plan on how to do this would attract funding and students.

Next we do have the staff right here, maybe we are not all Dr's but we have vision enough to collaborate on this idea. I won't say I have the connections to pull this off but I have some, I have studied this for a bit and with some luck, support and hard work we may be able to leave something behind for our brother Urantians. So I invite you to look around ask what you are doing right now and if you have time to commit to some real discussion, brainstorming and action. If you do and you have the will lets get together on this board or somewhere more private. let that be our first order of business. If anyone daring enough to join would please express their desire to do so and your vote on weather or not this should be public. There needs to be three People willing, not including me for this primary panel and the first three votes is what I will count.

Ps. The current UU is a good first step but I'm talking about an accredited University I will call the school and see if they would like to join us in this discussion. They will probably be a great asset to us

My name is North American Brazilian I wish to join, I vote for private discussion first to organize then bring issues to public view.

My name is Gerdean and I wish to join the discussions; however, I wish to make them as public as possible. I also suggest we establish ways and means to provide "laboratory experience" to go along with the intellectual pursuit ... so that it is not merely an academic discussion but an actual hands-on reality. Otherwise, it is all just more talk. But don't get me wrong. This is the kind of talk I love -- futuristic brain-storming -- so count me in.

I like your idea Gerdean. I'm thinking a set class structure of UB teaching like UB 101. then each "regular class" professor can, in their own way, apply teachings into their tests or quizzes. Like, learn what there is to learn then have the quizzes or tests force students to apply their study of the UB in to thier understanding of the curse material. for example:

Q137: Show examples of where current US government agrees with The UB. Show examples of where they can improve.

Q10: How can can the agriculture community help to further Urantia into light and life.

Q509932: In microbiology does the UB help us discover better forms of cell cloning.

I don't know this is just a way to integrate the UB or the teachings of Michael into every class. Maybe they can be a separate type of test but it will keep the students on their toes about The UB. Also most students are interns and we can require reports on how they applied the UB in there work or something. I'm no Professor but once we organize a general idea on paper I can get some help from a few organizing the curriculum

What do you think?

Hello and welcome Slyde.

The talk radio is a good place to listen to an expert Idea. I wonder what he has to say and his plans. I suggest all involved tune in and get some education on the idea and if anyone can track this guy down we can show him some support. And work him in or he can work us in either way this is good. Tune in and lets discuss it on sunday around 2pm eastern, here (if there are no objections).

NAB

Ps; call in and ask some questions.

Hi NAB and all.

I believe David E. Nash maybe the creator of this site:

Urantia University
http://urantiauniversity.org/

If he is, It would be great to call in. You can click on this following link and setup a free account with your own login and password, so you'll be ready Saturday (tomorrow) to login and listen and participate on the chat board at the same time. There's usually at least a dozen regular listeners there so there will be plenty of feedback to any questions we might raise.

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/cosmiccitizen

If for some reason you have a problem login in you can always just dial-in to (646) 716-8158 and listen to the program while interjecting questions at the same time.

There's a possibility here, that something may move forward on this idea.

I hope many of you join in the OnAIR discussion and simultaneous Live Chat.

God's Love and Peace be with all here and those who tune in tomorrow.
:-)

The Urantia University was one of the most productive shows they had. There were more than 23 listeners and a lot of exchange. So if anyone here want's to listen to the show they can listen to it HERE
Image

I'm listening to it now while posting this because I missed about the first 20 minutes of the 2 hr. show.

If you listen to the show a little more than half way through there is information on how anyone here can apply to teach or get involved with the school. You can email or contact David Nash at

Saturday's radio address was great and I suggest anyone check it out and get a good understanding about what he has done for the teaching of the UB.

Thinking over this project I have come to a general plan of execution here is and outline of the "battle plan"

First we must rally people behind the cause
A to gain support we must have a general idea what we want to do
B this plan must include an outline of a curriculum
C a big part of this curriculum is how to organize the Quote into a curriculum:

D explain how we plan on integrating the underprivileged (i think this is our call sign because it will make us stick out from the competition early )
E costs and profits and how to distribute funds to student programs (i think it sould be a NON profit and only pay employees the rest is reinvested or given to public schools)

After the plan we can rally people> Why are people important? the most valuable thing in the world is people especially people that agree. So with a good base of support we can shop the plans around to different funding sources whether they be banks, potential, investors or philanthropists. The idea here must be to make the book look good and if we can agree on a great way to reach the underprivileged whether poor financially or academically we can attract broader support from the wealthy(ie Bill Gates:mrgreen:)

Second we fund using fundraisers, loans, endowments, bake sales etc.
A important source is grants from the USA gov
B also we should consider attempting to gain endowments of land and buildings
C also intelligent investments in commonly used methods such as the stock market
D volunteers we will rely on them too

Third we staff and open
A teachers should be paid well and have stake in the school and students proformance
B officers should be versed in the UB and have appropriate credentials
C opening and operating should be smooth

This is just an outline really I expect it to me "marked up" but it will give us an idea about how to do this thing and start us thinking down the right path. There is more that should be done like i think a course in the UB should be provide free to anyone including non students at school. but this is just a thought. David Nash's strategy could be integrated but he needs to agree and we should have a better plan before we try to recruit him, don't scare him off by pushing this idea too soon let him do what he has planed and support him Please.

Fortunately/unfortunately I must run my friend is having a baby. but please "mark" this plan up and we will work out details over the week.

God Bless
NAB

Ok. What don't you like about E. And again I am sorry I did not know she would give birth and I had to go. I did at least give you all I had come up with and if you had a better answer I asked for it. I am at fault and I do apologize, but I see nothing there to make anyone lose hope. I find it quite sad really, I thought I left a good starting point considering the time I had to get it all down.

See this project is all I think about, everyday I put a little effort into its growth. So if you think about it I really don't need to think about it, the "public" does. I already do and what I wrote is what I thought so far. If no one but me thinks this stuff its not going to happen so easy. Now if there is an issue with the plan, I asked several times for the "public" to add their two cents. Giving up or letting even me get in the way is not an option. This is bigger than us and it will affect more people than us. We are just the tools in GOD's tool box. Build something....you, yes YOU.

Sorry guys and gals tomorrow I will rewrite the "plan"

Noam Braz,

Don't apologize. You have nothing to apologize for; you did nothing wrong. How was your friend's birthing experience? Did everything work out alright?

You may want to overlook my comments; they are laden with sarcasm, cynicism, sour grapes and bitter disappointment. As an idealist, like you, I dedicated a huge portion of my life to an inspired "plan" to establish life experimental stations on Urantia so as to establish a foundation for a fifth epochal sociology. Maybe, you being 40 years younger than me, maybe the world has changed; maybe our society is more likely to take a look at your ideas; maybe somebody will be willing to take these utopian ideals seriously. But ... don't hold your breath.

I couldn't get interested in E because it approached the challenge through contemporary economics and I don't believe there is any viable future in contemporary economics. I believe any brave new world order or Jesusonian type educational institution we would set out to create must be established without any solicitation for funds. It will take a handful of dedicated people -- one or two of whom must be stinking rich -- and all of whom must be passionate about their task, loyal to their association and, like reserve corps of destiny, willing to work without reward.

Young people might make some great strides on this kind of an idea for future generations but I've dedicated nearly 40 years to my contribution to Urantia and mostly people just laugh at me. It can get discouraging. So don't let me discourage you.

p806:5 71:7.5 Education is the business of living; it must continue throughout a lifetime so that mankind may gradually experience the ascending levels of mortal wisdom, which are:

p806:6 1. The knowledge of things.
p806:7 2. The realization of meanings.
p806:8 3. The appreciation of values.
p806:9 4. The nobility of work—duty.
p806:10 5. The motivation of goals—morality.
p806:11 6. The love of service—character.
p806:12 7. Cosmic insight—spiritual discernment.

I sort of agree with Gerdean: "You lost me at E"

The reason for me is that I mentioned in one of my other posts that I wouldn't want this to become another "Oral Roberts University".... already we are talking about MONEY, MONEY, PROFITS, and that turns me waaaayyyyyy off... Now, I'm not "ignorant", I am aware of the fact that an actual University would need funding, but not through conventional means. So you guys work out the details, but I can't involve myself in something that could turn into another "business" adventure...

The excitement I had was to see what was described in this quote:

Alas, man will "never" change.

All is well. let me explain my thinking. I do agree with everyone when it is said that this should be an effort of devotion not for profit. The fact is we most likely won't see any profit. By addressing the fact that money is needed to pay off the out side world that does not deal with us in our community of believers is needed to make a plan. The goal behind E's () is that it can funnel the money (that i agree wont have value soon) to build up the younger schools and the people in need. A way to see this happen in todays world requires money but the staff does not need to be driven by profit but they do need to eat. the school according to the Quote will teach farming and growing food maybe we can use the food produced to feed staff and students that eliminates a great cost and gives a real encentive for students to learn, being that they need to work for thier food. I think this is a great Idea.

To state my intentions, I don't want a dime from this in fact I'd rather spend all I make on it and just be happy about it. In the future there will be no money persay nessesary. But in the times we are in now we must build, once the school is built then the when the rest of the worls crumbles we will have a school already. Profit is not bad as long as it ges to charity and that is my goal here on E. but like above I think we can explore other methods of sustanablity for this project that does not require cash. but this is about sustainability not compensation.

This is good talk don't be so shakey on your stance voice your opinion and we can work this out. I will adjust the plan accordingly to better grasp this belief and find another way to stucture E's "problem". please understand I just want it built the world can have its money.

So what do you think of the farming idea and can anyone expand on it while I work this out.

Love, O:)

NAB
