There is really only a friendly rivalry here. Porcupines and Beavers basically share separated areas, fresh water and land. Porcupines are no faster than the Beaver on land. They can defend themselves from predators with Quilled Hairs, valuable substances that are ejected when struck against a predator.

On Land, neither the Beaver nor the Porcupine stands to defend themselves from human-like predators.

The Choice of Beavers was to build his own dwelling place, that he shares with muskrats and other animals during the inhabitably harsh winters of Urantia. The Porcupine's fur is suitable for most deciduous wintertimes.

Because of possessing unlike habitats, the Porcupine and the Beaver do not pay much attention to each other. I liken the Beaver's Hut to the Executive House, and the Porcupine to the House of Representatives. Each Quill can be made into a pen, a useful tool for adults.

The Beaver's tail becomes a Drum on his own Pond, signalling the danger to other creatures of the forest. The Beaver has no poisonous Glands unlike its other Aqueous friend the Duck0Billed Platypus. As long as the Beaver is given space, it can select choice limbs, and allow the Porcupine to share the Bark, their favorite foods.

Exploration of Totem Animals Series:
So that the intellectual farmer can "glean" the useful techniques taught by the forest.
